Message: I just read a supposedly-Christian book (not from your publishers) that I trashed the day after I finished it. (I wouldn't want my grandchildren reading it!) The main character got drunk and almost slept with a stranger she met while intoxicated. There was no mention of God or Jesus, and, while there was no lustful descriptions of the incident, I was left with an empty feeling as the book concluded.

As a contrast, I just finished "A Donut a Day" and was inspired to walk closer to my Lord as a result. I've been spending too much time with trivial pursuits (online Sudoku, for one) that, while not bad in themselves, have decreased my time with Him. Your paragraph p. 110 "...are you doing good deeds just because it feels good to do them, or because Jesus wants you to, even if they are hard to do or cost you something?" was the spark that caught me! I want Him back to first place in my life!

Gail, you're my favorite author. I love your humor, and can hardly wait to pick up any book written by you. I've collected 17 titles so far...

Message: I enjoy reading your books and am currently reading "His Uptown Girl", however I am upset by the way you have been critical of what you call "solemn church" "churches with pews", etc. I enjoy going to that type of church and I personally feel that I am receiving a worshipful experience through the traditional hymns and the services. I think that God wants us to dress our best and come with the attitude that we are to worship and serve him not to be entertained as if we were going to a concert. I don't have a problem with contempory churches if they are doing God's will but at the same time, I have noticed that many of our young people who attend these services do not know what it really means to serve God. There are a lot of good traditional churches who are thriving for God. Please do not be critical just because you do not share the same type of worship ideas. I do have one question. What if your main character was a person who loved to dress to the "nines"? Would the community church laugh her out as well the man? Is there a difference between a traditional church being critical of someone wearing shorts and a traditional laughing at you because your "girl" is dressed to the nines. I'm sorry to be long winded but I watched some people split a traditional church and start their community church. I also know these people personally and entertainment is the name of their game not serving God. I just ask that when you write, that you remember that not everyone in your audience is contempory. I will continue to read because you are a good author but I felt it was time that I stood up for my beliefs. I am in my forties so I am neither young nor old but I do work with high school students and I have a lot of elderly friends. Please respect the rights of people who worship differently from you as I will respect the right of those who worship differently from me. Thank you,

My husband of 40 years doesn't mind adding book shelves because you see I have a book on the go at all times. I have been reading romance books since I was a teenager(many moons ago) and I really love the Love Inspired ones. It is so wonderful to stop at any book shelf in almost any store and be able to pick them up. The message of Gods love can sure go out with these great stories. I share mine with my 88 year old mother who loves them and then pass them on to others. We have just finished reading Head Over Heels and thought the element of mystery was great. I have also read Vancouver and having been able to visit there a couple of times liked it too. I really appreciate stories with Canadian settings and there are not nearly enough of them.
